We are recruiting a Grinder for our client in Aberdeen for 3 months.
Assisting the Welding Foreman, Supervisors, and Chargehands achieve the quality and delivery expectations required from the Fabrication department in the manufacture of products. This needs to be carried out as per production schedules, safely, and in the most cost-effective manner.
This includes but is not limited to:
1. Grinding girth welds on tubulars using semi-automatic grinding machines or hand-held 7” angle grinders in line with work order instructions.
2. Drifting, fitting O-rings, protectors, and cleaning out pipe bores.
3. Painting and stenciling.
4. Maintaining the company's high standard of quality.
5. Working with company specifications, procedures, and guidelines whilst maintaining quality and efficiency in a safe working environment.
6. Housekeeping in the immediate work area and workshop in general.
7. Supporting and assisting, to the best of your ability, in the development, training, and progression of new techniques, processes, systems, and work practices.
8. Working in other Fabrication departments to assist with multifunctional tasks as and when operational requirements dictate.
9. Maintaining plant and equipment.
10. Participating in HSE initiatives.
Desired Qualities/Qualifications:
1. Experience in angle hand-held grinders and semi-automatic abrasive belt grinders.
2. Experience within a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
