If so, we want YOU to join our team as a Behaviour Support Mentor in Chipping Ongar What You’ll Be Doing: As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you’ll work closely with children who have special educational needs, providing essential support to help them thrive in their learning environment. Under the guidance of the Class Teacher and Senior Leaders, you will: Support students with a variety of needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and communication difficulties. Assist in creating a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels valued. Adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs, ensuring that all students are given the opportunity to succeed. Play an active role in early intervention strategies, using tools such as PECS or Makaton, where applicable. What We’re Looking For: ✔️ Experience working with children who have SEND, particularly around communication and behavioural support. ✔️ A genuine commitment to teamwork and collaboration with teachers and school leaders. ✔️ Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with both students and staff. ✔️ The ability to adapt learning tasks to meet the individual needs of each student. ✔️ A passion for professional development and a willingness to continually learn and grow in your role.
