The Role: Payroll Administrator
Salary: £23,400 per annum (pro rata)
Location: HQ (Derby)
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will ensure that our monthly payroll is processed efficiently and accurately.
* Ensure that all payroll data is received, checked, signed off and sent to our payroll agents in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all new starters are entered onto the payroll system.
* Process all leavers and calculate all relevant monies owed, such as holiday pay, PILON, redundancy payments.
* Process all pay changes accurately and calculate any back pay.
* Completing and issuing all tax forms such as SSP1, and P11d.
* Administration of the share save scheme and restricted share award exercises.
* Administration of the Pension portal and ensure that all new starters are automatically enrolled and managing the opt-out process, including any refunds.
* Administration of all benefits, such as Smart Tech, Cycle to Work and Healthcare.
* Ensure that third party benefit providers are updated with new starters and leavers such as Sovereign Healthcare, Link and Reward Gateway.
* Process all timesheet information, such as Overtime, Sickness and Wellbeing Pay.
* Administration of the ECOS scheme, sending updated contracts and updating the payroll system.
* Overpayment recovery administration.
* Monthly finance reports.
* First point of contact for all payroll related queries.
* Ensure all PAYE and RTI information is up to date.
* Manual tax and NI calculations where necessary.
* All payroll data compliance checks, including NI table and minimum wage.
* Process the annual pay review and ensure data is entered into the payroll system.
Support with payroll reporting, both ad hoc and the Annual Report.
What you will need to succeed:
* Payroll administration experience essential, specifically supporting payroll outsourcing.
* Ability to follow strict processes consistently.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
* Confidence in navigating and populating HR/Payroll spreadsheets and systems.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
* Use initiative to resolve minor issues and forward plan.
* Team player, supportive and always willing to assist.
