The Role: We are currently seeking flexible, adaptable, and genuinely enthusiastic individuals to join a service user directed private care team in Verwood, Dorset.
As a Personal Assistant, you will be working with a driven and motivated disabled individual in their own home - with lived experience of physical difference, neurodiversity and mental health challenges.
We are looking for motivated, organised self-starters who can follow instructions, collaborate effectively, supporting choice whilst providing personal care, support to access the community and provide support with administrative tasks if required.
Whilst we are looking for weekend and weekday short stay flexible cover as a priority, this is a flexible and dynamic role and are looking for individuals with a diverse range of availability so if you are interested regardless of personal circumstances, do feel enabled to reach out as soon as possible.
Main Duties:
● Support the individual with daily tasks, personal care, and any administrative duties if necessary
● To support the individual with household management, ad hoc and social duties and travel if required (you will have access to a Motability vehicle when on shift)
● Maintain an inclusive approach and respect the individual's choices and agency
● Cover weekday and/or weekend shifts with flexibility, subject to availability
Personal Qualities and Attributes required:
● No prior experience necessary, training will be provided
● Full UK driving license and a confident driver
● Access to own transport recommended due to location
● Must be comfortable with small dogs
● Confident with taking photographs on a mobile phone and supporting the individual with their personal presentation including hair (desirable, but not essential)
● Respectful of confidentiality and privacy
● Responsible, reliable and trustworthy
● Respectful of dignity and independence
● Good communication skills and social skills
● Punctual, reliable and flexible
● Open to supporting management of mental health challenges
● Open to providing non medicalised personal care (no experience required - training provided)

You must be able to prove the right to work in the UK. No sponsorships are available.
Hours and availability: Weekends and Bank starting from September 2024. Hours may vary
Pay: £13.80 - per hour (self-employed), £11.66 per hour (employed) - monthly
