Criminal Defence Solicitor / Legal Executive
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Criminal Defence Solicitor/Legal Executive to join our highly regarded, award-winning Criminal Department in Newport.

We are Lexcel accredited and recognize that our people are our greatest asset, striving continuously to invest in our staff and support their career progression.
The successful applicant will be expected to manage their own caseload, including complex and sensitive matters, in a warm and confident manner. They will be required to attend Police Stations and Magistrates court to represent clients. Support will be provided to help build their caseload, with in-house training available for matters such as the use of our LEAP case management system and criminal billing.
Skills and Experience:
1. At least 3 years PQE in criminal law desirable.
2. Must hold Duty Solicitor status.
3. Must hold Police Station Accreditation or be willing to work towards achieving it.
4. Excellent time management and attention to detail.
5. Ability to build strong client relationships and empathize with clients at all levels.
6. Self-motivated and commercially minded, with a drive to generate new work.
7. Motivation to learn and self-develop.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft packages and Case Management Systems.
