Mobile Electrical Technician - Midlands Region
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Electrical Technician to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to provide expert electrical engineering services across various sites in the Midlands region of the UK.
This position requires a flexible approach. As a Mobile Electrical Technician, you will, at times, be required to work away from home, with hotels provided.
This role will be working a contracted 45 hour week, with working hours from Monday to Friday, including 10-hour workdays with 1 hour unpaid lunch per day. Working flexibly any five days out of seven (when required), including some regular weekends on a rota basis (rota to be confirmed with successful applicant).
1 in approximately every 6 weeks will be working an out of hours on-call rota system, which will be rewarded with an on-call allowance plus hourly pay when required to go out to a breakdown. Additional overtime is also available.
Key Responsibilities as Mobile Electrical Technician:
1. Participate in the on-call rota to support emergency responses.
2. Perform reactive repairs on electrical systems to minimize downtime.
3. Conduct servicing and maintenance of electrical services on both mobile trailers and static sites throughout the UK, ensuring 100% completion of TMS work reports.
4. Ensure compliance of electrical systems with BS7671 standards and regulations.
5. Inspect and test equipment, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs while maintaining accurate records of all work performed.
6. Maintain and calibrate test equipment, keeping detailed records of testing activities.
7. Assess and communicate the need for additional labour support when necessary.
8. Carry out general duties as required, including minor plumbing and HVAC system repairs.
9. Uphold high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
Requirements as Mobile Electrical Technician:
1. Completed an accredited apprenticeship (City and Guilds) with a minimum of 5 years practical experience.
2. Qualified in test and inspection - 2391.
3. Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
4. Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Working Hours as Mobile Electrical Technician:
1. Contracted 45-hour week (Monday to Friday) with overtime opportunities.
2. On-call rotation schedule (approximately 1 in 6 weeks) with additional compensation.
3. Travel & overnight stays may be required.
