We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Head Veterinary Surgeon to lead our dedicated team in Hinckley. With no out-of-hours (OOHs) responsibilities and a structured rota, this role provides a balanced schedule and a supportive environment.
Salary: Starting at £70,000 (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of 5 veterinarians, 5 nurses, 2 student nurses, and 2 animal care assistants
* Oversee all clinical and surgical activities, ensuring the highest standards of patient care
* Develop treatment protocols and establish clinical standards in collaboration with the team
* Conduct consultations, diagnostic tests, and surgical procedures
* Engage with clients to ensure compassionate, effective communication and build long-term client relationships
* Participate in the development and implementation of practice initiatives and improvements
Qualifications and Skills:
* Veterinary degree with current RCVS registration
* Significant experience in veterinary surgery, ideally with prior leadership experience
* Strong clinical and surgical skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development
* Organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for high-quality patient care
