Video Content Producer (News) - (Up to 6 Months FTC)
Reporting of the role
This role reports to LBC’s Head of Video & Global’s Digital Content Director.
Overview of job
You will be responsible for the smooth creation and delivery of industry-leading video content across all of Global’s brands, but with a particular focus on video news packages and explainers for our podcast products and LBC. Working alongside our video, radio, digital and social teams, you will be encouraged to create outstanding, engaging video content that ensures Global remains at the top of the media industry.

Measures of success – In the first few months, you would have:
1. Tackled the responsibility for the video output of an exciting new podcast – as well as contributing to the video output of LBC.
2. Got involved in everything from radio and podcast visualisation to the creation and delivery of news features, original formats/series, and large-scale productions.
3. Fostered and grown relationships between video, radio, podcast, social and digital team partners.
4. Maintained video production excellence across the board.
5. Helped to consistently generate original video content ideas (ideally in repeatable formats and/or series).
6. Maintained consistent, timely and professional communication across the business.
7. Understood and adopted internal processes, workflows, and policies.
Responsibilities of the role
1. You will be responsible for creating memorable video content that our audiences will want to share. Your ideas will help bring our brands and products alive online and on social media.
2. Work with the various radio and podcasting teams to amplify what they are doing on-air in video.
3. Contribute with ideas, help bring the best out of our talent, and influence how we continue to publish engaging content for our digital audience.
4. Lead shoots and productions - complete risk assessments, call sheets, and organise kit and crew alongside our Production Management team.
5. Lead some projects in their entirety - from creation, scripting, and storyboarding to shooting and editing.
6. Manage multiple requests simultaneously and seek internal or external resources where appropriate.
What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:
1. An extensive knowledge of video production techniques and workflows.
2. An in-depth knowledge and passion for the political landscape.
3. A solid understanding of the social media landscape, the need to adapt content per platform and the ability to plan shoots to cater for them.
4. A journalism qualification or relatable newsroom experience with strong knowledge of Contempt/Libel/Copyright/Privacy laws as well as understanding of OFCOM guidelines and digital compliance.
5. Intermediate/Expert knowledge and understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro is a must. Experience with other Adobe Suite apps such as After Effects and Photoshop would be an advantage.
6. Knowledge of advanced filming/camera operating techniques.
7. Particular experience with the Canon XA-55 or similar broadcast camera equipment would be advantageous.
8. A can-do attitude, willing to go above and beyond and to always be professional and courteous towards your colleagues and external contractors.
