We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Main duties of the job
Provide high-quality medical care to patients.
Manage long-term conditions and adhere to best practices in clinical care.
Process referrals, repeat prescriptions, and other administrative tasks in a timely manner.
Participate in duty doctor.
Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Support training and development of GP Trainee and team members.
Engage actively in practice meetings and support the strategic aims of the practice

Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care:
Provide consultations to patients of all ages, addressing a wide range of health issues.Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, infections, and minor injuries.Manage chronic conditions by creating individualized treatment plans.Conduct physical examinations, review medical histories, and request diagnostic tests where necessary.Prescribe medication and other treatments in line with current clinical guidelines.
2. Preventative Care and Health Education:
Promote preventative health practices and screenings.Offer health education and lifestyle advice to patients and their families.Address questions and concerns, fostering a supportive, patient-centered environment.
3. Collaboration and Teamwork:
Work closely with nurses, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff to provide seamless care.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review cases, improve patient care, and discuss practice improvements.Engage with community health initiatives and support the development of health programs.
4. Continuous Improvement and Compliance:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical guidelines, policies, and advancements in general practice.Adhere to Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, safeguarding policies, and WDMCs protocols.Contribute to quality improvement activities, including audits and peer reviews.
5. Patient Records and Administration:
Accurately document patient interactions, treatment plans, and follow-up actions in patient records.Handle administrative tasks related to patient care, such as referrals and report writing.Ensure timely completion of medical reports and correspondence as required.
6. Professional Development:
Participate in regular professional development and training sessions.Stay current with medical advancements, guidelines, and best practices.Engage in leadership and mentorship opportunities, contributing to a culture of continuous learning at WDMC.

7. Qualified GP with full GMC registration.
8. Appropriate indemnity cover (MPS/MDU).
