The post-holder will be part of a team which is responsible for emergency preparedness, resilience and business continuity planning within Cardiff Council.
Responsibilities will include ensuring that effective and up to date plans are in place to comply with emergency planning, resilience and response legislation and guidance, including the Civil Contingency Act (CCA 2004). The post-holder will proactively provide specialist advice, knowledge and expertise specialising in training and exercising and business continuity programme delivery.
About the Job
When in post you will manage and work as part of a dynamic team to deliver an effective Emergency Management service, supporting managers and staff across the Council, to ensure a robust and resilient response to any incident or event.
You will also manage all aspects of the training and exercising portfolio including development and delivery of the training and exercising plan and schedule, ensuring it is aligned to key risks and core standards. You will represent the Council and work with multi-agency partners within the South Wales Local Resilience Forum.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will be proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team, have previous experience in Emergency Management and ideally have experience of working within a local authority and have knowledge of its duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
