First Task are delighted to be continuing to work with one of Scotland's busiest contractors to source a buyer for their business. With a significant amount of work secured and in line with strategic procurement plans, they are looking to add additional headcount to their existing team. Based from their Head Office in Glasgow and reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be involved with:
1. Management of sub-contract procurement process
2. Sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations
3. Conducting tender processes for both material and sub-contract packages
4. Building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders
5. Identifying opportunities for cost reduction
6. Negotiating and supplier performance management
7. Ensuring adherence to procurement processes and procedures
Skills:
1. Experience within construction or civil engineering sector
2. Strong stakeholder management skills
3. Customer focused
4. Problem solving skills, ability to use own initiative to identify areas of improvement
5. Knowledge of procurement software
