Airfield Co-ordinator – Eday
Annualised contract of 260 hours per annum
Temporary up to 14 September 2025
£27,889 - £28,455 pro rata / £15.28 - £15.59 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate
Applications are invited from self-motivated individuals who can co-ordinate airfield operational services under the direction of the Airfield Superintendent and Airfield Officer.
Specific duties include organising crew turnout and time keeping, rescue and fire fighting services while receiving and dispatching flights, recording of aircraft movements and ensuring the completion of associated paperwork. The service includes baggage handling, preparing and operating the fire tender, maintaining apron control, operating the phone / radio transmitter, inspecting runways and airfield in general. In an emergency you will provide rescue and fire fighting and first aid services as required.
The annualised hours contract will be for a temporary period initially. Due to the frequency of air service and additional duties required at Eday Airfield, the annualised hours contract will be for 260 hours. Additional hours may be required for training etc which will be paid separately.
A condition of this post is that you will be resident in Eday as you will be required to respond at short notice and during evening / weekends.
Full and current driving licence, to drive a car/small van in the UK, or where not held a provisional licence and the requirement to achieve a full licence within 2 years.
