Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced People Services Improvement Lead to join Derby Council on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Job Purpose: The People Services Improvement Lead plays a key role in enhancing service delivery through strategic improvement initiatives, performance monitoring, and inspection readiness. This role involves working closely with service managers to identify priorities, implement best practices, and drive positive change across the People Services directorate. Key Responsibilities: Lead and facilitate service improvement initiatives, acting as a trusted advisor. Conduct performance reviews, identifying barriers and opportunities for improvement. Support planning, risk management, and performance frameworks. Manage inspection processes, ensuring compliance and readiness. Develop and monitor improvement plans based on audits and assessments. Provide strategic advice using data-driven insights and benchmarking. Represent the Council in external meetings, sharing best practices and knowledge. Skills & Experience Required: ✔ Proven experience in service improvement, performance management, or business planning. ✔ Strong analytical skills to assess service performance and drive strategic change. ✔ Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. ✔ Experience in coordinating audits, inspections, or compliance-related activities. ✔ Ability to lead projects, manage change, and influence key decision-makers.
