We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Administrator/Planner to be based at our site in Kegworth on a 4 on 4 off 18:00 to 06:00 - night shift pattern.
As Transport Administrator/Planner, you will be based in the gatehouse and responsible for booking in all inbound and outbound loads, greeting all visitors and contractors, managing the shunters and the shunting operation. You will also manage and maintain the yard management system on site and for other sites, plan jobs, allocate work to hauliers, run reports, and maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment for all staff. Working with a team ethos to ensure an excellent and valued service is provided to all customers while gaining trust and respectful business relationships.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £27,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 20 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
* Booking inbound and outbound drivers.
* Greeting all visitors and contractors.
* Managing the shunters and shunting operation.
* Receiving yard checks from the shunter – checking they match the system.
* Communicating VOR trailers and updating the system accordingly.
* Receiving pre-shift checks from the shunters and making sure there are no defects.
* Managing defects on the TUG.
* Supporting drivers and visiting drivers and using the XPO driver app.
* Running operational reports.
* Allocating work to hauliers.
* Creating quality events in the system for any deliveries with issues or failures.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
* Essential: 2-3 years’ experience within a transport office operation.
* Essential: Experience with Microsoft Office/Excel and working with systems.
* Essential: Experience in using transport planning software.
* Essential: Successful track record in communication and building relationships with customers.
* Essential: Experience of working with yard and planning management systems.
