Who You Are You are a fully qualified accountant with a strong background in financial reporting and year-end closing processes within local government. You possess expertise in supporting audit requirements, implementing accounting standards such as IFRS 16, and producing comprehensive financial statements. Your skill set includes managing pension fund treasury activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. What the Job Involves This is a six-month interim role focused on supporting the Pensions, Treasury, and Statutory Accounts team through the preparation for year-end closing 2024/25, including interim audits and the production of the Statement of Accounts. Reporting to the Chief Accountant and Pensions Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include addressing audit queries, coordinating debtors/creditors reconciliations, and preparing various disclosure notes. Additionally, you will assist with the Pension Fund closing program, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage treasury activities while supporting key projects related to Pension and Statutory Accounts.
