Role Title: Police Community Support Officer (PCSO)

Hours: Full time (37hrs per week) on a shift-based pattern
Starting salary: £24,921 per annum, plus additional shift allowance and weekend enhancement payments of around a further £4800 per annum

As a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you will work at the heart of the local communities across Hampshire, providing a visible and accessible presence of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary. It is a role with the potential to send you home every day with a tangible feeling of pride, knowing you have made a real difference to the lives of people in our communities. You will be a key part in crime prevention and community support by building partnerships with residents, schools and other groups.
We are currently looking for PCSOs all over Hampshire and start dates for new applicants will be approximately early 2025.

Qualifications
As our PCSO role is offered as an Apprenticeship, you need to be educated to QCF Level 2 (GCSE at grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics.
* If you have already achieved these qualifications, you will be asked to supply copies of your certificates to us as part of the Recruitment process. If you have international qualifications, we will ask you to obtain a Statement of Comparability from ENIC, which demonstrates your qualifications are equivalent to the required level.
* If you do not yet have these qualifications, you can still apply! If you are then successful in becoming a PCSO, we will support you through your Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in English and Maths during your first 12 months with us, alongside your PCSO training program.
Our other entry requirements for the PCSO role are:
* Desirable: Full Manual Driving Licence
* Competence in basic office IT skills
Salary and Other Benefits
You will join us on a starting salary of £24,921, together with additional weekend enhancement and shift allowance payments of potentially around £4800 per annum (depending on your shift pattern), which is payable after the initial training period.

We are pleased to confirm that you will obtain a Level 4 diploma in Community Policing Practice within the first 12 Months of your PCSO role.
