The opportunity
Due to an increase in projects, our client is currently on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor- Black Hat, to become responsible for ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed in a safe, effective and timely manner.
The role
As the Mechanical Supervisor- Black Hat you will be a front-line supervisors with direct responsibility for putting people to work and who will typically brief their workers on how to carry out their work and ensure that they are carrying out their work safely and effectively.
This role has been deemed inside IR35
Duration: 12 months
Location: Bridgwater
Rate: Basic Monday -Friday: £32.26 p/hr
Midweek after 8 & Saturday am: £48.39p/hr
Saturday pm & Sunday: £64.52 p/hr
Plus, bonus
Your duties and responsibilities will be
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will play a key role in the health and safety of any contract.
You will develop, implement and monitor the Safe Systems of Work that we use.
They are “hands on” with the safety and in ensuring the highest possible standards of workmanship in our workplaces.
Responsible for putting your people to work.
Have the responsibility to check that the workplaces in which you place your workforce are acceptable and safe.
Responsible for checking that adequate controls are in place to reduce risk.
Must supervise your workforce and escalate issues to the Black Hat or Site Manager as appropriate.
Must ensure you understand the essential safety requirements.
You must complete trade assessments for all personnel under their supervision at 7 days, 3 months, every 6 months, end of an event/project and end of employment.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Level 3 Apprenticeship
Engineering Construction - Pipefitting Standard or Mechanical or Plating.
Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician.
Engineering Fitter.
Metal Fabricator.
Project Controls Technician
Certificate of Apprenticeship in Plating
ACE Card demonstrating Level 3 Diploma in any of the following disciplines
Mechanical
Pipefitting
Metal Fabricator
Mechanical/ Engineering Fitter
Or all of:
B0 H0 and CSQ and SCN1 and M1 and HN1 large component replacement or HN1 reactor opening and closing (OFC)
One of the following from:
LATS
SSSTS
IOSH Managing Safely
