Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Communications Officer for an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend, on a rate of £18.57-£22.70/hour PAYE. This role will be hybrid working, with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Responsibilities: Provide communications support for a program aimed at enhancing digital learning environments, with the successful candidate managing the production of communication activities for key project milestones. Identify and produce news stories and content for a variety of digital publications to support project activities and foster broader engagement. Assist in coordinating engagement communications, focusing on training and support needs to ensure a consistent and user-friendly experience for both staff and learners. Contribute to programmes that will increase registrations on short online courses and online teaching spaces. Essential Skills: Ability to create and develop high-quality content aligned with project and service communication strategies. Ability to plan, develop, and update project SharePoint and website content. Capability to define calendar milestones, plan activities, and schedule content. Proficiency in analysing and reporting on data and insights from digital channels. Ability to lead the coordination and planning of user group meetings and activities for the project. Providing administrative support, including preparing reports, project communication materials, award entries, and engagement event logistics. Portfolio demonstrating excellent written communication across various media, including the ability to assess and report on impact and reach. Confidence in managing multiple and evolving priorities in a flexible manner. Strong working knowledge of Office 365 and SharePoint or similar web-editing tools. Experience in using social media platforms such as Twitter and blogs. Awareness of data protection and accessibility considerations for both print and electronic communications. Desirable Skills: Experience working in an academic or higher education environment. Familiarity with using hybrid meeting software, such as Microsoft Teams. Strong focus on continuous improvement.
