We are seeking a calm, resourceful, and energetic individual who is well-motivated and hardworking to join our team. Our scheme in Newcastle consists of 7 self-contained flats and supports vulnerable people with mental health support needs to increase their independence, connect with their communities, and develop social networks. This role helps prevent long-term residential care or hospital admission and facilitates eventual moves to less supported environments.
You will provide person-centred support, assisting tenants in daily activities and achieving their goals. Strong communication and engagement skills are essential, along with a mature approach to working within a positive behaviour support framework. You will support individuals with various needs, including those who may engage in risky behaviours or have mental health needs, learning disabilities, or autism. Following agreed guidelines and working within a supportive team ethos is crucial.
A minimum of twelve months' experience working with individuals with mental health needs is essential. While a relevant professional qualification is desirable, it's crucial that you are warm and able to work in a person-centred manner.
As a Creative Support Bank Staff member, you'll have access to our free app, which allows you to pick up shifts anywhere in the country and provides information on services and shifts, as well as directions.
