Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant
Are you a recent History, Geography, or R.S graduate who wishes to pursue a teaching career and needs experience in a school setting to aid in a teacher training application?
Could you use your knowledge and skills to raise the attainment levels of underachieving GCSE humanities students?
Details:
1. Position: Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant
2. Location: Walsall
3. Salary: £80-£90 per day
4. Duration: September 2024- July 2025
5. School Rating: ‘Good’ secondary school
6. Support: Providing support to GCSE humanities students on both 1:1 and small group bases.
Requirements:
1. At least a bachelor’s degree in History, Geography, or R.S.
2. A passion for the humanities field.
3. Commitment to following safeguarding procedures.
4. Dedication to the education and wellbeing of students aged 11-16.
5. A warm, friendly personality, with the natural ability to build bonds with young people.
6. Previous experience of working with children, or in a school setting is advantageous, but not essential.
The Role:
1. Assisting teaching staff in daily activities ie. planning and delivering lessons.
2. Providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
3. Tracking student progress and creating personalised support strategies.
4. Building strong bonds with both students and staff.
5. Assisting staff in leading extra-curricular activities.
