Job Description Commercial Solicitor (4 years PQE) Location: Newbury Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About our Client: We are supporting an independent law firm with a strong presence nationwide, committed to providing exceptional legal services. The firm values innovation, collaboration, and the continuous development of our team members. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Solicitor to join their Newbury office. Key Responsibilities: Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements including Terms & Conditions (B2B & B2C), distribution agreements, and IT contracts. Conducting contract reviews such as supplier contracts and licensing contracts. Providing data protection advice and privacy document reviews. Offering transactional support to the Corporate team, including due diligence, disclosure, and negotiating warranties. Assisting with the process, coordination, and project management of matters. Developing strong working relationships with other teams within the firm. Contributing to knowledge management within the Commercial team and the wider firm. Utilising document management systems, CRM systems, and know-how databases. Engaging in marketing and business development activities, including attending networking events, liaising with key referrers, producing content for social media and the website, and presenting at seminars and other events (with appropriate support). Skills and Personal Qualities: The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate all or the majority of the following: Previous experience in a commercial team in a UK Law firm. Excellent organisational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to build and manage their own caseload of matters, as well as handling delegated work. Experience in marketing and business development. Experience in developing junior team members. Hands-on approach with proven ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication and written skills, with a commercial approach. Ability to adapt style as required. Ability to build strong relationships. Willingness to participate in firm activities and initiatives. Demonstrated use of initiative and proactive behavior. Regular and efficient user of a time recording system. Experience with billing, administration processes, compliance, and risk management. Flexible work practices, including working from a range of offices as needed. Why Join this team?
