Job Description:
Scope of Role:
As a Team Leader you will be working closely with the repair operations management team to take ownership of your area of responsibility. You will be responsible for monitoring production performance against agreed KPI metrics and actively leading the team.
Main Duties/Responsibilities (Leader)
* Provide leadership to team members in order to meet Workshop objectives and production targets.
* Lead daily team meetings to share information with team members and provide feedback on Workshop performance to management.
* Manage and address staff-related issues as required.
* Maintain a quality culture within the workshop, ensuring safety and quality policies are enforced.
* Liaise with the workshop management team in training staff and maintaining skills matrices, providing regular feedback on progress.
* Conduct appraisals and performance reviews in conjunction with management, in line with corporate policies.
* Continuously review processes and recommend or implement improvement activities.
* Ensure all team members comply with Health & Safety procedures.
* Ensure all equipment is safe to use, calibrated, and regularly maintained.
* Work with the management team to approve holidays and absence.
* Liaise with Operations management as part of the workload planning process.
Main Duties/Responsibilities (Technical)
* Undertake precise mechanical work and electronics repair, including through-hole and surface-mounted components.
* Complete fault finding, repair, and testing processes using specialized and general-purpose test equipment.
* Work in accordance with the manufacturer’s component maintenance manual, regulatory approvals, and the company’s quality system.
* Complete accurate and legible repair records and ensure timely filing.
* Maintain an agreed level of quality and cost-effectiveness, ensuring accuracy and safety standards are met.
* Stay updated on company working practices and procedures.
* Undertake cross-training in other technical areas as required by the business.
* Understand and utilize the Quantum system for effective delivery.
Qualifications:
* Relevant technical qualification at or above NVQ level 3, HNC, or recognized trade qualification or relevant military education.
* Engineering Degree (ideally Aerospace or Avionic).
