*Role responsibilities*
The Senior Strategy Manager (Rolling Stock) will work to Transport for Wales (TfW) objectives by developing and maintaining the rolling stock (including rail and bus) strategy. It will incorporate maintenance, renewal and replacement of life expired rolling stock, infrastructure upgrades, and timetable improvements on the TfW network, in order to meet TfW’s committed obligations
* Provide leadership by managing the interface with wider TfW Sponsorship and Strategy teams, to support development of their strategic plans and validating that proposed infrastructure and rolling stock enhancements deliver desired outcomes.
* Lead and integrate the introduction of infrastructure enhancements, new rolling stock and timetable improvements on the TfW network through programme, commercial, contractual and risk management of multiple contracts to continually improve TfW’s service and infrastructure.
* Lead TfW’s organisational readiness for new asset introduction by managing the rolling stock readiness, operational readiness, and infrastructure readiness as an integrated package of works to deliver Welsh Government commitments on fleet introduction and timetable uplifts on time.
* Manage the relationship with Network Rail and Department for Transport (DfT) through formal and informal meetings to secure external funding where appropriate and deliver the required infrastructure upgrades to support the rolling stock introduction and timetable uplifts.
*Who we’re looking for*
* Demonstrable experience in delivering rolling stock strategy projects
* Demonstrable experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects, including managing budgets and having planning and programme responsibility.
* Demonstrable experience of managing complex interfaces with multiple contractors.
* Knowledge and experience of effective contract management.
* Experience of developing, leading and motivating a multi- disciplinary team.
* Detailed knowledge of the UK rolling stock market (manufacturers, ROSCOs)
*Welsh Language Skills*
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
