Due to an increase in pupil numbers, Novalis Trust has opportunities at William Morris School (ages 7-19) for both ECT’s and suitably qualified experienced teachers. There could also be opportunities for non-qualified teachers i.e. apprentice schemes; those completing an appropriate accreditation towards qualified status; those wiling to do so in employment with us or those with strong experience working in schools e.g experienced TA’s or HLTA’s.
We are a supportive team who welcome teachers from all backgrounds and levels of experience looking to begin a career in special educational needs teaching. We specialise in trauma-informed, attachment-focused relationship based, therapeutic approach to teaching.
Our schools provide a nurturing environment for teachers to develop their existing experience or build on their teacher training as an ECT.
Experience in special needs is not essential as training will be provided. The ability to form relationships with pupils, reliability, resilience, and a flexible approach to working with others are important.
At our schools, the successful candidate will teach and nurture a small class group of 5-8 pupils and with an experienced co-teacher. The co-teacher usually plays a mentor role for new teaching staff when they first join the school before forming a longer-term partnership to teach their assigned class.
We have positions within KS2, 3, 4 and 5. We are especially interested in teachers with a PHSE specialism. All applications will be considered on an individual basis, and we highly recommend visiting us so that we can work with you to consider where you would fit within the school.
If you value being part of a team, are keen to learn about trauma and attachment and would like to play a role in supporting pupils to overcome early life challenges to achieve personalised outcomes then this is the opportunity for you.
Starting salary £30,000 (ECT’s). Teachers with relevant experience will be placed at the appropriate level of the pay scale.
Other Novalis benefits include:
· Teacher Pension Scheme
· Lunch provided
· Training and development opportunities
· Free on-site parking
· Eligibility for a Blue Light Card
· Health cash plan
· £600 New employee welcome bonus (payments made between 6 weeks to 1 year, subject to PAYE deductions)
