Syncsmith is a relationship-driven and service-oriented agency, focused on providing a tailored audio service to the TV, Film, Gaming, Fashion, and Creative Industries. We also provide sound design, bespoke composition, and production services to meet the needs of anamorphic and on-screen content. Our aim is to alleviate the burden from creative directors, producers, and music supervisors by supplying a disruptive and avant-garde source of material to enhance and support emotive visual projects. We represent individual artists, recording labels, composers, and sound design specialists to provide an intelligent catalogue of music while offering commissionable services for bespoke audible content.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise in music supervision (and/or key account management) and will approach the role energetically, maintaining their personal brand presence within the creative domains. In exchange for a market-leading salary and annual performance-based incentives, they will be responsible for delivering the strategic objectives set by the business and supporting the founder in achieving pre-set targets. Potential candidates will have established relationships and a network that they can continue to develop, along with securing new key accounts across the creative markets. With access to Syncsmith’s unique and diverse creative repertoire, the candidate will leverage their knowledge and expertise of the creative world to create sync opportunities for artistic composition as well as the ongoing representation of the back catalogue. The ideal candidate will be based in Somerset or willing to relocate, with assistance provided for the right candidate. This newly created position will support the identification, development, negotiation, and licensing aspects of music supervision working on creative digital advertising campaigns, film trailers, film and TV scores, and gaming opportunities. The candidate must be knowledgeable in the music world and acutely aware of new developments in the premium brand space.
Key Responsibilities & Attributes:
* Development of personal brand including attendance at workshops, seminars, and key industry meetings
* Deliver a six-figure strategic growth plan for the creative markets
* Management of key accounts and sales pipeline to assist in the delivery of the growth plan
* Negotiate contracts, frameworks, and strategic deals with advertising and marketing giants
* Build strong relationships with creative affiliates globally to develop creative opportunities
* Develop external interest to ensure the frequency (and hit rate) of pitches remains positive
* Promote and develop Syncsmith’s aesthetic, presence, and output
* Pitch to creative agencies, advertising agencies, brand strategists, and develop a professional network
* Implement creative promotional and marketing strategies
* Develop innovative PR strategies and events to enhance our value proposition and market impact
* Work with individual artists to develop the back catalogue and compose within constrained timeframes
* Maintain an A&R stance to identify emerging talent and enhance the quality of available material
* Maintain regular contact with Syncsmith artists, labels, and associates
* Manage creative briefs on an end-to-end basis from inception through to closure
* Manage Syncsmith internal cataloguing system with key information and metadata
* Stay up-to-date with trends in music, attend gigs, invite clients, and be actively viewed as a tastemaker
Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor's or Master’s Degree (preferred)
* Expert knowledge of the creative markets, key stakeholders, and associated protocols
* A record of success in procuring £50k+ synchronization deals in creative advertising, film, trailers, gaming, etc.
* Passion for music, experimental, avant-garde, and electronic music
* Familiarity with licensing, publishing, copyright, and music rights processes and protocol
* Ability to work independently, adopt a self-starter role, and determine own schedule
* Flexible, honest, hard-working, and willing to step outside the 9-5
