Our client is a well-respected manufacturer within the power generation industry. They seek a talented manufacturing engineer on a permanent basis in the Wolverhampton area.

The successful candidate will provide manufacturing technical knowledge and instruction from the design stage to the completion of manufacture. You will seek, facilitate, and achieve direct improvements to processes and help to encourage further investment.
You will be responsible for:
* Instructing the most efficient method of manufacture of components and assemblies
* Generating manufacturing documentation in the form of manufacturing inspection and test plans (MITP), issuing route cards containing clear manufacturing instructions
* Being involved during design to review drawings and plans to ensure they are able to be produced effectively
* Inputting, sanitizing, controlling, and updating the manufacturing data in the in-house production control and MRP systems
* Identifying waste (lean definition) and non-value adding activities seeking changes to eliminate or at least minimize it at every stage in the manufacturing process from design to dispatch
* Undertaking a make/buy assessment based on cost, in-house capability, resource availability, schedule requirements, and quality requirements
* Supporting the tendering process as required, including the development of manufacturing strategies
* Raising NCRs and contributing to closing out NCRs when activities and processes do not conform using analytical methods such as the 5 Why's, DMAIC, and root cause analysis to further continuous improvement
* Updating and following through manufacturing drawings, documentation, and quality updates
You will have:
* Minimum 5 years industrial experience in a manufacturing role gaining knowledge in machining and/or welding in a lean environment or of graduate calibre
* In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes - must include at least two of:
Machining
Mechanical assembly
Welding
Electronic/electrical assembly
* In-depth knowledge of a variety of different welding processes
* Knowledge of the inspection processes and how designs affect the accuracy, time scale, and expected results
* Ability to communicate clear written and verbal instructions to all manner of people of various knowledge bases
* Ability to work in an organized, methodical manner to review designs and offer advice on improved manufacturability
