Purpose of this Role: Drive the success of Diageo's Capex agenda by developing and implementing effective procurement strategies. Your focus will be on securing the best value and minimizing risks associated with ambitious capital expenditure projects. You'll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and build confidence in the procurement process. This will involve projects at Diageo’s distilleries and other processing sites and will cover procuring process equipment, construction services, packaging equipment or consultancy services. You will work closely with the engineering team who lead the projects and you will provide timely guidance and support on commercial and procurement matters. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies that support Capex objectives, emphasizing value creation and risk mitigation. Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key partners across site operations, engineering, and other relevant functions. Ensure clear communication and alignment throughout the procurement process. Commercial Foresight: Drive cost savings, optimise supplier performance, and find opportunities for value improvement. Negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure the best possible terms. Strategic and Tactical Execution: Move seamlessly between strategic planning and hands-on implementation. Ensure timely and efficient execution of procurement activities. Supplier Management: Hold suppliers accountable for delivering on commitments, fostering innovation and continuous improvement. Communication and Collaboration: Clearly articulate sophisticated procurement concepts to diverse audiences. Instill confidence in partners through transparent and effective communication. Skills and Experience Required: Demonstrates ownership of the business area and is self-sufficient in managing and improving area within sphere of influence. Proven track record of developing and driving successful procurement strategies. Strong commercial foresight and negotiation skills. Strong analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders. A proactive and results oriented approach. Engineering background would be beneficial.
