As Corporate Affairs Business Partner, you’ll be responsible for the strategic planning, development and implementation of an overarching integrated government affairs and communications programme to deliver our GBU priorities in UK & Ireland. The role will work in partnership with the General Managers (GMs), Corporate Affairs Team and the GBU Leadership Teams. Main responsibilities: Develop an overarching Corporate Affairs Strategy to support our key GBU priorities Work in partnership with the Corporate Affairs Team, GMs and the GBU Leadership Teams to develop an integrated Corporate Affairs Strategy for the GBU (in alignment with a One Sanofi strategy) to support Sanofi to: Positively disrupt the external environment to help the UK to achieve its ambition of being a life sciences superpower that gives patients timely access to innovative medicines, incentivises UK investment for Life Sciences companies and supports appropriate pricing and reimbursement of innovations. Increase disease awareness of priority brands and ensure timely communication of product related news and key milestones. Develop an Executive Communications programme for the GM(s) that is aligned with the overall Corporate Executive Communications programme and enhances his/her profile externally. Support the implementation of the Global Integrated Patient Engagement initiative in UKIE to ensure that patient engagement is at the heart of all our activities. Maintain an in-depth understanding of the UKIE policy and media environment relevant to the GBU and company priorities. Understand the UK media environment and the motivations of individual journalists and develop and maintain a network of key journalists that support our key Specialty Care activities (aligned with the broader Sanofi plan). Act as the UK media spokesperson for GBU specific issues, alongside the General Manager, Head of Corporate Affairs and Corporate Communications Lead and ensure appropriate media preparedness including message development and training. Provide strategic advice to the GM(s), GBU Leadership Team(s) and Sanofi UKIE business to leverage external environmental developments and mitigate risks that occur. This will include ensuring robust and timely issues and crisis management where necessary. Develops and leads a high performing Team that works in close collaboration with the broader Corporate Affairs Team to support the GBU priorities Lead a high performing Team that directly supports GBU priorities. Performance manage the team through setting and reviewing priorities, providing appropriate and timely feedback about performance and coaching team members to help them to achieve their goals. Support the professional and career development of the team by identifying the skills and competencies that employees need for their current and prospective roles and providing opportunities to learn and develop. Develop, manage and monitor a responsible budget process for the GBU Corporate Affairs activities that ensures appropriate resourcing of priority activities. Represent Sanofi UKIE Corporate Affairs alongside the Head of Corporate Affairs at key Global GBU and Corporate Affairs meetings and build collaborative relationships with relevant colleagues in Global Corporate Affairs and the GBU(s). About you Senior level corporate affairs experience, preferably in a communications/public affairs agency and/or a healthcare company. Robust knowledge of the political, policy and media landscape across the UK. Extensive experience of supporting the market access of innovations into the UK and running advocacy campaigns in the UK and achieving policy change. Wide experience in developing and implementing effective, high-profile and measurable corporate and/or product communications strategies that cross all channels (earned, social, shared, owned, paid), ideally in a healthcare setting. Strong strategic, oral and written communication skills with the ability to foster clear information exchanges with various audiences. Detailed understanding of how to develop and execute innovative, measurable corporate affairs programmes. Line management experience and demonstrable leadership capabilities.
