We are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Infrastructure Division. In this role, you will serve as the engineering face of the business when supporting site teams, acting as a subject matter expert, and ensuring clear communication with clients while maintaining high professional standards. Role Overview: As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for addressing engineering challenges on projects before they become operational issues. This includes implementing the quality management system, providing technical leadership, and ensuring that all engineering teams are well-supported and developed. You will play a pivotal role in reviewing proposals, driving value engineering opportunities, and ensuring the integrity of temporary works designs. Key Responsibilities: Project Engineering Oversight: Ensure that engineering challenges are addressed proactively, preventing operational issues. Implement the quality management system and ensure appropriate plans are in place to support successful project delivery. Team Management: Manage and support the engineering team, ensuring the team composition matches the project’s needs. Provide guidance and create opportunities for engineers’ development in alignment with their career goals. Peer Review: Conduct internal peer reviews of proposals from site and tender teams. Assess any potential deviations from tender assumptions and evaluate the commercial implications of these changes. Value Engineering: Identify and implement value engineering opportunities to optimize project outcomes and cost-efficiency. Design Check Oversight: Ensure that all design checks are completed in accordance with internal procedures for both in-house and outsourced temporary works designs. Requirements: Chartered Engineer with ICE, IStructE, or an equivalent professional body. Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Proven experience in consulting, construction, and working within client teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to act as a liaison between the engineering team, clients, and other stakeholders. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team of engineers. Experience in quality management systems, value engineering, and design checks in infrastructure projects.
