The project:
Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, playing a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved right from the start of such a historic project. Work to date has primarily focused on enabling works for site readiness. Work is commencing with great speed in the following areas: road, rail, fencing, security, water systems, utilities, and the build of modular and industrial facilities.
We are looking for assistant project managers and project managers. Your scope of accountability will encompass a diverse range of projects, including but not limited to: Design and construction of on and off-site infrastructure, Park and Ride sites, rail works, accommodation campus, temporary cabins, temporary construction roads, hardstanding, utility networks (potable water, comms & data, power, fire fighting water, etc.) and highway works (bypasses, public realm works to adoptable standards).

7. Manage on-site project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and milestones.
9. Implement best practices in project management to optimize efficiency and quality.
10. Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
11. Ensure plans align and are in compliance to development consent order requirements.
12. Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth project progression
13. Work with portion planning resources to guarantee delivery of works and compliance with Integrated Work Schedules.

You’ll need to have:
20. Demonstrable project management success on large scale construction projects.
21. Ability to build lasting client relationships and work collaboratively as part of an integrated team.
22. Hold degree qualification preferably in engineering or project management discipline.
23. Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the construction or energy sector.
You’ll also have:
24. Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
25. Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes.
26. Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
27. Commercial and financial acumen.
28. Experience of working on projects within large, diverse teams.
29. Experience of developing and forming relationships with other stakeholders within projects.
30. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
