The National Trust is a busy organisation that has a lot going on at all times - you can guarantee that no day is the same so you'll have to love variety. Salary: £9,079.20 per annum/ £11.64 per hour (FTE £22,698 per annum).
This is our anticipated salary from 1st April but is subject to final confirmation following the Trust’s annual pay review process.
Contract: Permanent
Hours/ working pattern:- 780 hours per year (3 days, 22.5 hours a week, from April to first week of October. 9am to 5pm every Monday, Thursday and Friday). 1 day / 7 hours a week from second week of October to end of March - 9am to 4.30pm every Monday.
This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.
These are the general working pattern days, although there may be requests for occasional day changes: flexibility to work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as required, for example on weeks Bank Holidays fall. Advance notice will be given for these days.

Woolbeding Gardens is a modern horticultural haven, nestled alongside the River Rother. Comprising of 30 acres, explore carefully composed formal garden rooms, an atmospheric wooded pleasure garden, and the latest addition, the Woolbeding Glasshouse and Silk Route Garden.
The Gardens open to the public on Thursdays and Fridays. For the 2025 season, the gardens will open from 24th April until 26th September. It's likely you will need your own transport to get here, however this is a great opportunity to join a welcoming, enthusiastic team to showcase the garden to visitors.

What you'll be doing
Known for your attention to detail and can do attitude, you’ll help provide a comprehensive administration service to your team. As well as responding to all visitor enquiries via email and telephone, coordinating group visits and working alongside volunteers, you’ll be comfortable using a variety of IT packages to help create reports, keep accurate records, and write timely and accurate internal/external communications and newsletters. You'll also assist with the visitor operations, taking charge of the day-to-day running of the second-hand bookshop, building an understanding of the admissions till and the admission systems to become on-site point of contact for till support, cash up the till at the end of the day for the volunteer visitor team, complete money transactions and daily banking tasks, and will assist all teams in welcoming visitors to the property. In essence you’ll assist with the delivery of an effective business service function.
