South Tees Youth Justice Service are seeking to appoint a Case Manager with the motivation and vision to join our team. You will have the drive and determination to contribute to the future development of STYJS, improving performance and ensuring quality in the delivery of our work.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for undertaking assessments and planning interventions to meet the needs of a young person and assist them to access services.
We are looking for a suitably experienced individual who can show the creativity and commitment to make a difference to the lives of young people. You should have experience of working with young people with complex needs and a proven ability to improve outcomes.
The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues from partner agencies is a key skill for achieving success in this role. An understanding of using restorative approaches to overcoming barriers to engagement is essential for success in this post.
Middlesbrough Council is committed to investing in its workforce and all staff benefit from induction, supervision, and there is an established process for supporting progression in the service. STYJS supports a flexible, hybrid working model, including working from home to support a positive work-life balance.
To be appointed to the K Grade, you must have the required qualification and demonstrate experience of working in Youth Justice or a related area. Applicants without the required qualification are invited to apply and will be initially appointed to the H grade. Progression to the K grade will then be dependent on the candidate undertaking the Youth Justice Board’s (YJB) Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate (YJEPC).
Upon successful completion, you would be moved to the J grade and then are required to complete a competency framework which, once completed and signed off by the Head of Service, would then progress to the K grade and be classified by STYJS as ‘qualified’.
This is a challenging but immensely rewarding role and provides a real opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of young people and communities across Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. For further information or an informal discussion on this post please contact Melissa Young, Operations Manager on 01642 201888.
The above post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
