Job Introduction
Rowner Infant School is a small, two form entry school at the heart of the local community of Rowner and Bridgemary, in Gosport. Our catchment includes many service families as well as local families.
We are on a continuous and exciting journey of improvement under the leadership of our head teacher. We are looking to appoint a strong and enthusiastic Year R practitioner to join our happy and supportive Rowner family. We are a small, but perfectly formed infant school with relationships at the heart of our practice. We are a fully inclusive school who work hard to ensure that every child is respected as a unique individual. We believe that the children’s emotional wellbeing is as important as academic and believe this is a cornerstone for achievement.
We are looking for a teacher for the summer term who can demonstrate:
1. a superb curriculum subject knowledge
2. they are able to work in collaboration with staff across Year R
3. that they truly believe that all children can achieve well
4. a positive, caring and approachable manner
5. how to create a positive learning environment
6. they are able to use knowledge of the curriculum to make learning irresistible for infant aged children
7. excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
8. high expectations of children’s learning and behaviour, and of yourself
9. being a lifelong learner and reflective practitioner, who is always seeking to improve provision for our children
10. being a team player, able to inspire and work in partnership with colleagues, parents and children
11. being fully committed to supporting school life
12. being flexible, proactive and able to work with initiative
13. an empathetic understanding of children’s emotions and behaviour
