We have a vacancy for a Biomedical Scientist Band 6 in Biochemistry with a desire to work as part of one of the largest NHS-led Pathology Services in the South of England. We are specifically looking for an experienced candidate to support our 24/7 shift system.
Applicants MUST have HCPC registration and relevant NHS laboratory experience.

Main duties of the job
* To make best use of consumables and reagents in an efficient manner.
* To highlight to senior staff where improvements may be made that will decrease our costs and/or improve service delivery.
* To be involved in the robust and effective CPD / appraisal processes across BSPS.
* To train, supervise and aid in the development of other BMS grades, trainee BMS and support workers, and direct their duties as requested by senior staff.
* To participate in job experience and recruiting schemes by representing the Trust, Department and Profession at and within these events.

QUALIFICATIONS
* BSc in Biomedical Sciences
* HCPC registration in Biomedical Sciences
* Evidence of CPD
* M.Sc Biomedical Science (desirable)
COMPETENCIES
* Multi-tasking skills, prioritisation skills and initiative.
* Team worker & going the extra mile.
* Working out of hours.
* ECDL / IT - experience of LIMS (e.g. Winpath).
* QMS experience.
PROFESSIONAL
* Experience of a diagnostic specialty in Biochemistry.
* NHS Blood Sciences Experience.
* Experience with Abbott's Alinity ci analysers.
* Experience of working in a HUB laboratory.
