Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in servicing and maintaining plant such as telehandlers and counterbalance forklifts, with an open-minded approach to understanding and maintaining specific wood processing machinery across 2 sites. As a Fitter, you will also be responsible for managing and organising stock for all maintenance parts.
Responsibilities
1. Carry out daily/weekly/monthly checks on all plant to ensure efficient operation.
2. Diagnose and repair faults using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
3. Carry out servicing on all plant and generators on site.
4. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety regulations.
5. Organise and manage the stock of all parts and liaise with the management team on requirements.
6. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot any fitting issues that arise during production.
7. Keep accurate records of work completed and report any discrepancies or concerns to management.
Requirements
1. Experience as a fitter working on various plant machinery.
2. Relevant plant maintenance qualifications required.
3. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
5. Familiarity with various hand tools and machinery used in fitting processes.
6. A valid driver's licence is essential.
