MOD Projects Manager.
Experience of working with the MOD is necessary for this position.
Mobile role - a location anywhere in the South East will be fine for this position.
Our client is a major contractor to the Defence Sector, overseeing Construction Project Work, Upgrade and Facilities Management contracts across a range of Defence locations and Estates in the South East of England.
This position is suited for someone with a military background or clear military experience. The role will be split between approximately 2 days per week from home and 3 days at MOD Sites. A car or car allowance is included in the package.
The position involves visiting MOD Project sites to carry out initial planning and assessment of proposed construction/refurbishment projects before eventual handover to the construction team. You will liaise closely with the MOD and report to a Senior Project Manager, responsible for developing an initial assessment and plan for construction and maintenance work. This includes bringing in internal design and financial management expertise, as well as external expertise where necessary, to create a plan, estimate, assessment, and outline financial programme for the proposed project work.
This is a varied position with superb support from a large and successful PLC that has a long-term relationship with the MOD.
We are looking for a well-rounded FM or Construction Manager with NEC Contract experience, capable of liaising effectively with MOD senior personnel and assessing and planning construction/maintenance/refurbishment projects effectively.
Work covers a wide-ranging Property Portfolio, including infrastructure projects, Plant Asset renewal (HVAC, Chillers, Electrical Switch Gear), Life Safety Systems, CCTV, BMS, Hanger upgrades, MEP projects (including ULEV), Demolition, and other facilities management services in the UK Defence Sector.
This is an excellent, stable, and interesting pre-construction management position in the defence sector for a Mechanical, Electrical, Civils, or Construction Manager, with superb prospects within a supportive team. The position involves a 40-hour work week, a driving license is essential, and security clearance will be required.
