This is a fantastic opportunity for a Haringey resident to become a qualified Construction Site Supervisor in the construction industry through working for a leading principal contractor, Midgard, part of the JRL Group. Please note: Only local Haringey residents will be considered for this position.

Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, times may vary depending on project; we normally work 45 hours per week, but times will be adjusted for apprentices younger than 18.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
You will:
* Assist the Construction Manager/Site Manager with day-to-day duties
* Carry out site safety inspections
* Gain an understanding of method statements, risk assessments and the need for clear communication of works to operatives and the need for reviewing RAMS as necessary
* Be trained to carry out site inductions
* Understand the design process including drawing registers, printing drawings and understanding them in relation to the build process
* Gain an understanding of site logistics

Course contents
* Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
* Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
* Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
* Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
* Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
* Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
* Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:

* L3 Diploma Construction and the Built Environment (grade Merit)
