JOB: Criminal Duty Solicitor SALARY: DOE A well-established firm based in Milton Keynes Summary of role - Handling a varied caseload of private and legal aid funded criminal defence cases - Representing clients from initial caution through to case conclusion - Dealing with ranging matters from police caution through to Magistrates / Crown Court Main tasks and responsibilities - Manage a range of criminal cases, including traffic matters, serious violence, murder, sexual offences, fraud, and public order and dishonesty - Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing commercially viable advice and support - Provide representation in court, ensuring the best possible outcome for clients - Work collaboratively with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services - To ensure confidentiality of the firm's and clients' documents and information, maintaining the highest standard of client care. Personal skills and attributes - Qualified Criminal Solicitor with current practising certificate - 2 years PQE - Duty Solicitor status - An exceptional grasp of criminal law and procedure. - Proficiency in organising tasks and adhering to deadlines. - Ability to offer quality counsel to clients. - A capacity to work efficiently while maintaining a flexible approach. - Professional and pleasant with the strong communication skills - Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently - Self-motivated and proactive to identify problems and find solutions - Able to give and receive constructive feedback, working effectively as part of a team - Flexible, adaptable and agile and able to manage unexpected changes to workload - Able to prioritise and manage time effectively - Active in promoting the Firm's services, image, values and ethos
