As a nursing associate on L7 you will need to be flexible and able to adapt to meet the needs of the department day to day. This includes assisting with basic nursing care through to caring for your own caseload of patients.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Qualified Nursing Associates to work on Ward L7 at Salford Royal. The post holders will support clinical practice within the day surgery department:
* Keeping the people who are using our services as safe as possible through the use of sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments.
* Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence based policies and procedures.
* Ensuring the people using our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering and working in partnership with people throughout the care planning process.
* Supporting learning in both formal and informal settings in order to support the ongoing development of staff in clinical practice.
You will be supported in this role and will have opportunities for continuing professional development in a busy and rapidly developing service.

Person Specification
Education
* Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register
* Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate
* Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards
* GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English Language / New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Equivalent
* Experience of working in stroke
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
* Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model
