Role: Cable Installation EngineerSector: Offshore WindLocation: UK – Remote with frequent travel to GlasgowStart Date: ASAPDuration: 6-12-Months + Possible ExtensionsRates: £750 Daily Rate Inside IR35Clearance: BPSS (DBS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UKAs part of the Client Marine Team’s Cable Installation Discipline and Project Marine Installation Package, reporting to Package Manager and Project T&I Engineering Lead, the Cable Installation Engineer will be technical point of contact for all scopes related to installation of the projects’ Array Cables.The candidate will have strong technical competence w.r.t Inter Array Cables Installation, good communication skills, and relevant experience interfacing with a multidiscipline engineering team, Cable Suppliers, T&I Contractors, TSOs and external consultantsResponsibilities:Expected to work with sufficient autonomy and lead the technical aspects of the Cable Installation scope all along the project life cycle.Analyse, recommend and optimise offshore installation and logistic concepts and methodologies from early design up to the offshore campaign, (including route engineering, CBRAs, CPS design, cable pull ins)Support Key project tender activities including development of technical requirements, evaluation of technical proposals and contract negotiations.Review method statements and risk assessments and produce comments sheetsProvide input to the risk and programme analysisRespond to technical queries or interface with other packages/Contractors to resolve queriesReview engineering calculations (in general) and identify issues / risks to the ProjectLiaison with the Marine Warranty Surveyor service, ensuring the transport and installation methodology is approvedPromote a strong, clear and positive health and safety cultureEnsure compliance with offshore marine and lifting regulationsAttendance to meetings, and participation in the required discussions, at the project offices, as well as at the Contractors and Site officesDelivery of all technical tasks, including production of documents, attendance to meetings, reports, technical evaluations, specifications, alternatives assessments, site inspections, etc., as requiredSupport HAZID/HAZOP for loadout, transport and installation equipment design and offshore installation operationsContinuous knowledge sharing including regularly updated Lessons Learnt registered with the line departmentRequirements:Educated to Degree level in relevant engineering discipline (Naval, Civil or Mechanical) and master's degree in an engineering discipline related to subsea installation works or maritime works will be positively assessedRegistration as a Professional Engineer is desirableMin. 7 years previous relevant industry experienceExperience in Inter Array Cables InstallationExperience in Offshore T&I /Subsea /Marine OperationsRelevant experience working for a developer is desirable
