Responsibilities:
1. Provide specialist psychological assessment of adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, utilizing structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methodologies.
2. Formulate and implement plans for specialist psychological treatment or management based on multi-factorial psychological understanding.
3. Undertake a range of psychological therapeutic interventions, adapting modalities (individual, family, group) to the needs of the individual and context.
4. Provide specialist psychological perspective in the assessment of service users and their families, contributing advice regarding referral decisions for mental health intervention.
5. Contribute highly specialist psychological advice to the multi-disciplinary formulation of appropriate therapeutic approaches or intervention plans.
6. Undertake psychologically based risk assessment and risk management for relevant clients and provide advice on psychological aspects of risk.
7. Consult with and provide specialist psychological guidance to carers and families of service users.
8. Exercise substantial professional responsibility and autonomous professional judgment in practice.
