We are looking for someone to become a member of our Dispensary Team, where you will provide support in delivering a high quality service to all Pharmacy customers.
The department is friendly and supportive, operating within a modern environment. This position would suit someone with a keen eye for detail and who is able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including other healthcare professionals and members of the public. You will be a good team player, enthusiastic and proactive with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
All post holders will be required to complete the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services once in role. Once NVQ level 2 has been completed there are opportunities to progress:
* Student pharmacy technician (2 year course to become a registered technician with the GPHC after completion)
* Band 4 positions (e.g., stock control supervisor or dispensary automation supervisor)
The core hours for the dispensary are 8.00am until 8.00pm. Hours will be Monday to Friday 9.30am to 6pm with one day per week working 11:30am to 8pm (day to be confirmed on appointment). You will also be required to work 1 weekend day every 7 weeks and 1 or 2 bank holidays a year.
Part-time or full-time hours considered.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include:
* Dispensing inpatient and outpatient prescriptions and discharge medication.
* Meeting and greeting people at the reception hatch and accepting outpatient prescriptions and taking prescription charges.
* Stock control and associated tasks relating to stock management.

Minimum Requirements
* English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent
* GPhC approved Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services or willingness to work towards
Knowledge
* Good basic computer skills
* Previous experience of working in a Hospital pharmacy dispensary
Experience
* Works as part of a team
* Proven experience of working in a customer facing role, ideally within an NHS setting
* Proven good verbal communication face to face and telephone
