Job Overview: A Children’s Social Worker is responsible for providing support and intervention services to children, young people, and families who are facing difficult circumstances. Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Case Management:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying their needs, risks, and strengths.
Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans for children and families, ensuring their needs are met.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of cases, making necessary adjustments to interventions.
Work with families to create safety plans and provide ongoing support.

Maintain accurate and detailed case records, including reports for court hearings and legal proceedings.
Support and Counseling:

Advocate for children’s rights, ensuring their voices are heard in decisions affecting their well-being.
Work closely with schools, healthcare providers, and community services to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Collaboration and Referral:
Refer families to relevant services such as mental health, housing support, or substance abuse treatment.
Collaborate with other social workers, professionals, and agencies to ensure integrated support for families.
Legal and Ethical Duties:
Prepare for and attend court hearings, providing testimony where necessary.
Ensure all actions are compliant with legal requirements and ethical guidelines.
Keep up to date with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation in child welfare.
Education and Outreach:
Educate children and families on their rights, available services, and how to access support.

Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW) from an accredited institution.
Certification or licensure in social work (e.g., LCSW, CSW).
Experience:
Experience working with children, families, or vulnerable populations, preferably in child welfare or social services.
Familiarity with child protection laws, family law, and working with multidisciplinary teams.
