The Medical Assessment Unit at Ysbty Ystrad Fawr is looking for an enthusiastic and highly-motivated individual with proven clinical and managerial experience to motivate, inspire and lead the nursing team in achieving high standards whilst promoting patient safety in an assessment area. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the line management and supervision of all registered nurses, healthcare support workers and Nurse practitioners within their team. You must be a good and effective communicator, who can demonstrate problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure, managing staff and delivering patient-focused care. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge and skills in caring for patients in an assessment setting, with a range of medical conditions ensuring that both their mental and physical health needs are met. They must be able to ensure that the nursing and healthcare staff on the unit are providing care to the expected standards while ensuring an understanding and knowledge of all the relevant policies and regulations within this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Acute Medical Unit at GUH and 8 beds on ward A1 which forms part of the Acute Medical Unit clinical model. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Nurse for Medicine to ensure and demonstrate the delivery of a high standard of care in a safe, compassionate, responsive, effective and well-led environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
