We provide a range of services to adults under the care of different physical health specialties. This post will input into the Neuropsychology Service, and involve completing cognitive assessments, making recommendations in relation to cognitive rehabilitation, and where possible providing psychological support to people with a range of neurological conditions under the supervision of Clinical Psychologists and a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. The role will also involve input into tasks relevant to promoting service quality and development.
Over the last 25 years the Clinical Health Psychology Department at BTHFT has grown to include Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors and Health Psychologists covering a wide range of physical health conditions.
We have an excellent reputation for the services we offer, and place a high value on continuing professional development and personal support. We regularly take trainees from the D. Clin. Psych. Course at Leeds.

1. Previous experience of working in a health or care setting directly with patients.
Desirable
2. Experience of paid work in direct care provision.
3. Paid research experience.

4. Skills in administering and scoring a range of neuropsychological/psychometric tests and self-report measures
5. An ability to interact effectively with and engage people from a range of backgrounds.
6. Ability to work independently, creatively, reliably and consistently with work agreed and supervised at regular intervals.
7. Ability to work flexibly to support developments in service delivery.
8. Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.
9. High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate condition related information to clients, relatives; undertakes group sessions with clients.
10. Strong analytical skills to use in one to one assessments and in working with groups
11. Ability to undertake the delivery of one to one clinical psychology work with people with health conditions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist
12. Able to demonstrate a clear interest in the advertised post and relate previous experience to the advertised post.

13. Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
14. An understanding of the psychological needs and difficulties of people with physical health problems or disabilities.
15. An interest in the social determinants of psychological and physical health difficulties

16. Experience using databases or data-analysis, especially SPSS for Windows.
17. Experience of research interviews Previous research and audit experience.
18. Experience in writing high quality reports.
Qualifications

19. An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology.
20. Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society

21. Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology and / or research design and analysis.
