About The Role The Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing employee engagement and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic priorities through effective internal communication. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders across FBC to design and implement impactful communications campaigns, while also taking the lead on specific initiatives. The role requires hands-on management of digital communication channels, content creation, and support for events and other activities, with a strong emphasis on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and employee wellbeing. Main Responsibilities The Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist will collaborate closely with the Head of Internal Communications and various stakeholders to develop and implement engaging internal communications campaigns that align with business priorities and boost employee engagement. They will lead the planning and execution of proactive campaigns, regular weekly communications, and responsive communications across multiple channels. The Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist will oversee the daily management of internal communication platforms, such as Email/Outlook, SharePoint, digital signage software, and emerging platforms like Viva Engage. Their role will involve optimizing these channels to ensure timely and consistent messaging throughout the organization and supporting the integration and rollout of new communication tools. Additionally, the Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist will produce high-quality digital content, including visuals, videos, and written materials, tailored to the needs of different employee groups or projects. They will maintain the content calendar to plan and distribute communications effectively, ensuring all content aligns with the company’s brand and tone of voice. Responsibilities will also include assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of internal events, such as town halls, leadership and company conferences, and engagement activities. They will develop promotional materials and post-event communications to maximize engagement and participation. Finally, the Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist will partner with the DEI Council, HR, and the Head of Internal Communications to plan and create communication campaigns and initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), health, and wellbeing events, fostering a culture of inclusion throughout the organization. Who We Are Looking For Strong writing and editing skills Demonstrated experience in launching and embedding new communication channels or platforms Proficiency in using design tools Basic video editing skills and familiarity with video production software Experience managing SharePoint intranets, Microsoft Office applications, and familiarity with tools such as Viva Engage A creative problem-solver with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges Understanding and curiosity about the company’s priorities and challenges, with the ability to shape communications that support business goals.
