Practice Nurse Essential Responsibilities
The role will involve:
1. Venepuncture
2. Blood pressure monitoring
3. ECG
4. Height/Weight/BMI measurements
5. Health Promotion
6. Childhood and Adult Immunisations
7. Wound Care
8. Contraception
9. Cervical Screening
10. Spirometry
11. Long-term condition management such as Diabetes, COPD, Asthma
Some experience of long-term condition management and cervical screening is essential. The successful candidate must:
1. Be registered with the NMC
2. Hold a Degree in Nursing
3. Have substantial Practice Nurse experience
4. Provide evidence of ongoing CPD
5. Have a minimum of 1 Long Term Condition diploma
6. Have knowledge of patients with long term conditions
7. Be familiar with Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and associated policy
8. Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records, consistent with legislation, policies, and procedures
