International Medical Graduate Position as a Clinical Assistant at a busy Allergy and Asthma Clinic.
This is not a Medical Receptionist Position.
Requirements:
1. International Medical Graduate with an above average ability in the spoken and written English language.
2. Evidence of a medical degree must be provided, as well as marks from any recent US or Canadian exam.
Position Involves the Following:
1. Performing skin testing to the common aeroallergens, foods and other allergies.
2. Spirometry – breathing tests.
3. Other allergy tests including: patch testing, physical urticarial tests.
4. Education of patient in the use of asthma inhalers, adrenaline autoinjectors and other allergy devices.
5. Helping manage and other activities needed by the physicians or nurses including keeping rooms clean between patients (i.e., protection against coronavirus spread).
6. Primary role: History and Physical examinations of allergy patients, and completing reports to be sent to referring physicians (under supervision of allergist). Ideally, typing speed of >60 wpm is recommended.
Must be a team player and able to communicate with children and adults.
Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Hours: Part-time to full-time hours (20 to 40 hours a week).
Training will be provided on the job.
Contract: 3 months probation. Contract for 6 months and renewable every 6 months depending on evaluations.
Salary: To be negotiated depending on training and prior skills.
