Relationships Establish strong relationships and two-way communication channels with nursing colleagues across all PCNs; Work as part of the Training Hub team to develop and sustain strong professional and interprofessional networks supporting learning, and development for all primary care staff; Work in partnership with the Hub management and clinical leadership team to support the workforce in their personal and professional development. Work with nursing and quality leads to support protected learning time to meet the needs of patient care, workforce and organisations; Work in collaboration with local HEIs and other education providers to ensure high quality educational delivery; Leadership Support clinical education placements for undergraduate and postgraduate students; Provide support for education and training to the pre-professional workforce, ensuring mechanisms are in place for mentoring and supervision whilst learning; Promote high quality learning environments within the local area, including where appropriate, multi professional learning across all clinical disciplines; Share good practice across the professions in relation to the development of the clinical learning environment, assessment of learners and the development of flexible learning solutions such as e-learning; Promote primary care as a career of choice; Take responsibility for own professional development, maintaining a sound level of professional knowledge, skills and behaviour, meeting professional standards as appropriate; Act as a role model within the health community demonstrating high standards of practice and a professional attitude at all times; Maintain confidentiality and manage information sensitivity, acting as role model for colleagues To signpost the primary care nursing workforce to education and training opportunities; taking into account local needs; To support managers and mentors in using mechanisms that are in place to identify underperforming non-medical clinical staff and that appropriate actions are taken. Support for students and apprentices To ensure that there are appropriate processes in place to induct all new support staff and students to primary care placements; To ensure that the standards and objectives of the educational agreement between the learning environment and HEI are met; To ensure that students and apprentices have a named mentor (and preceptor where appropriate); To ensure that people understand the value of learning in the workplace; To ensure that support staff competencies are assessed and that they are not asked to work beyond those competencies unless supervised; To support managers and mentors in using mechanisms that are in place to identify underperforming students and support staff and that appropriate actions are taken; To ensure that careers support is available. Policy and service delivery Propose changes to own function making recommendations for other service delivery; To promote standards of care, compassion, openness, transparency and candour in all aspects of service delivery.
