The Harrow Safeguarding Adults Board (HSAB) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Independent Chair to lead our vital work in safeguarding adults across the borough. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference, shaping the future of adult safeguarding in Harrow.
As our Independent Chair, you will provide independent leadership and strategic vision for the HSAB, ensuring effective collaboration between key partners including the London Borough of Harrow, NHS Northwest London Integrated Care Board, and the Metropolitan Police Service. You will champion the safeguarding agenda, promote best practice, and ensure the voices of vulnerable adults are heard and acted upon.
About You
We’re Looking For Someone With:
* A degree level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., social work, public policy) or equivalent, with substantial relevant experience.
* A relevant qualification of sufficient standing to command professional respect.
* Extensive knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and other relevant legislation.
* Proven experience in leading and managing governance arrangements in a complex, multi-agency environment.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* A deep commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and promoting their well-being.
* Strong understanding of local government and political landscape.
Engagement:
* Freelance/Consultancy basis.
* 3-year term of tenure with annual appraisal, with the possibility of a second term (up to 6 years total).
* Estimated commitment of 30 working days per annum, with flexibility for additional meetings and engagement.
